Akoikonjou
Akoikonjou was a Youtube Channel project I had with another Game Designer. Our goal was to produce two types of content:
A regular series of let's play videos of a selected game with both of us playing.
When the game was finished, a video where we would explore Game Design concepts using this game as a base
We already knew that some game design channels like these existed but we really wanted to give a funnier aspect to this type of videos by mixing friendship and insight. So, we decided to post footage of the both of us playing before talking about a game to get the viewer with us before trying to teach them about how it was made. We knew which games we wanted to talk about and what about these games could make an interesting topic.
Sadly, it didn't go as smoothly as expected. We experienced almost all the problems linked to this activity going from corrupted footage to almost inaudible sounds but each time we grew from these and continued on.
Even if we really loved working on it, we could only progress during our free time and as our final year at Isart came, time was a rare currency we couldn't afford to spend on this project.
I still smile looking back at the 15 Legend of Zelda let's plays we recorded because of some malfunctions and if I ever find myself with enough free time, maybe i'll give it another shot.
